Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville was proud to be a part of the kickoff to the TN holiday season. Amid a flurry of guests brimming over with holiday spirit, Governor Bill Haslam and first lady Crissy Haslam lit the Christmas tree at the Tennessee Capitol Monday evening. The Tree, which is a majestic 30-foot Norway spruce, features over 6,000 LED lights and festive ornaments courtesy of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville. The tree stands three feet taller than last year’s tree and holds twice as many lights.

The tree was moved to Nashville from state-owned land located in Arrington in honor of the annual Capitol tree lighting which took place Monday, November 26th.

As the Governor and his wife lit the tree, the transition from dark to watching the tree come alive with the Capitol building as the backdrop was truly magical. Even as rain sprinkled from the sky, you could hear the reaction of the crowd as a unified sound of enchantment. The event for state employees, their families and the public was held on the plaza across from the Capitol building. The evening celebrations also included horse and carriage rides, a visit from Santa and recording artist Chris Young and even a reindeer named Comet. This event will definitely be held close to the hearts of our Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville’s crew. All the planning, design and teamwork that went into lighting this tree paid off when the tree was lit for the first time. We will always remember the moment, and are proud to have played such a crucial role in making the evening a success!
