Celebrating our 6th Season of Christmas at the Capitol

Elements of the holiday season can be enjoyed all over Music City but, one special Christmas tree always promises to shine the brightest — the Capitol Christmas tree in downtown Nashville!

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville would like to invite you to witness this the magic of the Christmas tree at the State Capitol. This is our 6th season lighting the tree and we remain honored to have been chosen for the task this year.

This year’s tree is a 35-foot Norway Spruce donated by the Mazzo family of Burns, TN. The tree weighed in at over at over 4,500 pounds and had to be removed from the Mazzo’s property by a crane.

This Christmas treasure now commands attention as it sits majestically at the State Capitol donned in classic white a lights, flashers and topped off with a glorious star. All are welcome to visit this holiday season — here is a sneak preview from our YouTube channel:

2015 Nashville capital tree is on the way

The excitement is mounting!

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville is honored and proud to have been chosen to light the Tennessee state capitol Christmas tree this year! This will mark our 4th consecutive year in lighting the tree. This year’s tree and celebratory “tree lighting” in the capitol promises just as much magic and family fun as year’s past. Being involved in-depth with the festivities, we do not want to convey any “spoilers” for the event, but thus far the plans are to feature ornaments along with lights in colors of gold, silver and red.This year’s Christmas tree came from James and Theresa Carter in Madison. It is a Norwood Spruce weighing 1,700 pounds and is 27′ wide & about 30′ feet high.

The annual tree lighting event is scheduled to take place Monday, November 30th, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm CST. Governor Bill Haslam and his wife will be flipping the switch marking the beginning of TN holiday season in the capitol. The tree is located at the TN State Capitol at 600 Charlotte Ave., in beautiful Nashville, TN.

2014 — Last year’s capitol tree was adorned in over one mile of lights to illuminate this majestic tree via an 80 ft. articulated lift to ensure every light was placed in the perfect spot to shine brightest. We also topped off this beauty with a three-foot jeweled star as the finishing touch. 2014’s tree was a 55-foot Norway Spruce chosen from the Cumberland Forest, where the University of Tennessee uses roughly 8,000 acres of land for research.

2013 — We chose a classic theme of red and gold for the 2013 capitol tree.

2012 — The 2012 capitol tree was a majestic 30-foot Norway spruce moved to Nashville from state-owned land located in Arrington. We made sure the tree shone in its holiday best filled with over 6,000 LED lights and festive ornaments courtesy of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville.

From homes to historic venues we are entering the “countdown” period when locales all over Middle Tennessee will be “flipping the switch” as holiday lighting brings the magic of the season to life. We have been busy designing and installing holiday lighting for many of the holiday ceremonies scheduled to take place over the coming weeks including the festivities taking place in Historic Centerville, TN.

2015 marks our 2nd consecutive year in providing the holiday outdoor lighting at the Centerville, TN, town square. Our design this year is very similar to the display we installed at last year’s event, including a mixture of classic C6 and C9 LED bulbs for nostalgia. We do have a few surprises in store for this year, but we can’t give away any spoilers just yet! The display will also be fully operable through a convenient wireless remote control.

We want to invite you and your to witness the magic first hand! Mark your calendar for November 29th 5 pm – 8 pm., for the Hickman County Chamber Christmas Open house! Many businesses on the square will be open late for you Christmas shopping and the historic Courthouse has been beautifully lit for Christmas by Outdoor Lighting Perspectives! The “switch” is set to flip promptly at 6 pm. We designed the display using a mixture of classic C6 and C9 LED bulbs to add an air of nostalgia. The display is also fully operable through a convenient wireless remote control.

It is usually a no-brainer when someone mentions Nashville the image that flashes in your mind is a guitar-holding, cowboy hat wearing musician, hard-working and hungry to be at the right place at the right time. After all, this is Music City, the place where dreams come true. Nashville is steeped in music history, being home to the Grand Ole’ Opry and noted as the birthplace of country music. Nashville has evolved to become the “go to” destination from nearly every walk of life for a myriad of reasons in addition to our musical roots.

Being in the midst of Nashville’s evolution into a top-notch city has made our business very interesting. Of course, we have designed and installed outdoor lighting for many of the top musical artists that reside in, and around Nashville. Although we cannot name any names as to ensure their privacy, it is exciting to see who answers the door sometimes when we come to call!

Our commercial outdoor lighting service is filled with just as much intrigue as our residential installations. Having the opportunity to transform and beautify some of the most popular locations in the area is quite humbling. Each time I reflect on the well-known places where we have installed lighting that are often in the spotlight (no pun intended), it reminds me of the famous Dr. Seuss book, “Oh the Places You’ll Go.” When we began Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville over 25 years ago, we never would have imagined the places we would go — literally. The Country Music Hall of Fame: The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum is operated by the non-profit, educational Country Music Foundation® (CMF). The mission of the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum is to identify and preserve the evolving history and traditions of country music and to educate its audiences. The location of the venue adds a strikingly modern touch to the Nashville skyline, and Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville enhanced the majesty of this location with the addition of outdoor lighting!

The Loveless Cafe: You simply cannot visit Nashville without planning a visit to this iconic eatery. The Loveless’ biscuits are so loved that they have earned mention on their T-shirts! The Loveless has been a fixture in the Nashville area for over sixty years. With a diverse history, the cafe serves up true Southern staples like fried chicken, country ham and, of course, those mouth-watering biscuits. Since its beginning in the 1940’s, the cafe has evolved to include The Loveless Barn ,which is a 4,800 sq. ft. venue that has become the trendiest place around for large-scale events, parties and even weddings. The Loveless Barn is also home to Music City Roots: Live from the Loveless Cafe which is filmed and recorded there every Wednesday.

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville provided the lovely holiday lighting for the Loveless last year, and is honored to provide it again this year. The venue plans to kick off the season at their Bright Lights & Biscuits event set to kick off on November 17th! This year’s holiday lighting promised to be even more enchanting!

The Gulch: The Gulch is known among Nashville’s residents to be one of the trendiest and “hippest” neighborhoods around. Not only is The Gulch a popular destination for locals, college students and visitors, it is the first neighborhood in the South to be deemed an LEED certified green neighborhood! The area is packed with urban appeal including office space, retails shops, restaurants, new and renovated buildings and a residential area. You may have even see the Gulch featured in a recent episode of the hit show Nashville!

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville has provided outdoor lighting at many of the trendiest locations within The Gulch. During the past holiday season we adorned all of the light poles within this unforgettable location with bows and garlands in honor of the holiday season. We also installed permanent festival lighting along the corridors of the Gulch, making it come to life!

Arrington Vineyards: Since 2007, Arrington Vineyards has been providing a true “wine country experience” of award-winning wines set among the picturesque rolling hills of middle Tennessee. Owned by country music artist Kix Brooks, winemaker Kip Summers, and entrepreneur John Russell, Arrington Vineyards has truly become “Nashville’s Wine Country”.

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville was honored to play a part in making this venue more enchanting by installing permanent orb lighting within the trees located on the property. The addition of orb lighting has made Arrington Vineyards breathtaking in the evening under the spell of this unique lighting technique.

Lighting the Christmas tree at the capital in Nashville: Last but certainly not least, we have lit the Christmas tree at the capital located in downtown Nashville two years running, 2012 & 2013. Stay tuned for the exciting details of this year’s tree!
