After many happy years at our Houston Street location, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville has moved! Just this week, we settled into Nashville outdoor lighting’s new home at 2215 Dunn Ave., Suite B in Nashville.

We are still pouring lots of elbow grease and love into making the new spot our own, as you can see through the photos.

As many of you may already know, we were originally called “Lightscapes” and were operating under that name from 1987 until 1999. The birth of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives can be traced back to us, as we were a driving force in the way outdoor lighting was brought to market. By creating a turnkey landscape lighting business which featured the advent of the “night-time demonstration”, we brought the concept of all-inclusive outdoor lighting out of the shadows, away from being “avant garde” and into the mainstream.

From here, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville was born. Our objective is to plan, design, and install your outdoor lighting as part of our all-inclusive service, with top-quality fixtures and service. So, even though our building location has changed our commitment to excellence in outdoor lighting has not!

A quality lighting system would not be complete without a worry-free service and maintenance program. We at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives want your home or business to look wonderful five years from now – just like it did the day it was originally installed. We have a dedicated service crew that service, adjust, and consult with all of our current clients and nonclient systems daily. The West End’s newest condominium community lights up its entrance with a custom lighting design by Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville

How long has it been since you checked out the Midtown/West End area? This part of town is one of Nashville’s most up and coming regions and has so much to offer in regards to its restaurants, residential communities, shopping, and nightlife. One of its newest additions is the recently restored/constructed condominium community, The Dallas on Elliston. Located between 21st and 22nd avenues on Elliston Place, The Dallas is at the epicenter of the West End, rich in history and designed with cutting edge materials, world-class amenities, and all the modern conveniences making it the perfect place to call home.

Upon its completion, the developer wanted to install outdoor lighting to enhance the street front exterior of this magnificent complex with illumination which accentuated its beautiful architectural and landscape features while also increasing safety on the property. They contacted Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville, the area’s premier outdoor lighting professionals to custom design and install just the right type of lighting and fixtures to achieve their goals. Unfortunately, the developer had just one dilemma standing in the way of the completing this task…no power source currently available outside the facility. Not being a company who “gives up” easily, we took a step back to review the situation and ultimately came up with a plan which meets the client’s needs until a permanent exterior power source can be established.

By utilizing the beautiful trees outside the complex to “house” the lighting, we were able to use battery-powered “tight wrap” lights to add beauty and character, as well as increased safety to the complex in the evening, thus achieving the client’s goals. These battery operated lights also use a built-in timer which creates a lighting cycle each day with automatic on and off times for increased battery life with up to 30 days of power from just one battery. These are truly innovative fixtures! The end result is just the right amount of ambient lighting to bring attention to this splendid residential complex within Nashville’s most vibrant neighborhood at night, beckoning prospective residents to live here and call it “HOME SWEET HOME!”

As previously mentioned, this condominium community is centered in the heart of the Midtown/West End area and has an impressive Walk Score (public access walkability index) of 89. It is in close proximity (between 2-5 blocks away) to just about everything:

Elliston Place Soda Shop – As Nashville’s oldest continuously operating restaurant in its original location, Elliston Place Soda Shop holds a special place in the local restaurant community. Since 1939, good food has been the mainstay of this charmingly nostalgic ice cream parlor/family style restaurant/diner. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert are available at this hot spot with a wide variety of choices sure to please everyone!

While Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville may not be as historically seated in the Nashville community as The Dallas on Elliston and other long time establishments, we respect and appreciate those who are. Clippity Clop and Merry Christmas — Don’t Miss the Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides in Historic Hillsboro-West End This Weekend!

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville wants to invite everyone out to enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride December 6th 7th in the historic Hillsboro-West End neighborhood to view the holiday lights! We are proud to be part of the festivities this year as we installed the temporary landscape lighting in honor of the occasion.

Come one, come all to enjoy the magic of historic Hillsboro-West End in all its holiday splendor as a festive 30-minute clip-clopping tour takes you past lovely, decorated homes, many built in the 1920’s. In addition to the horse-drawn carriage tours there will also be live music,caroling, refreshments and hot cider! Carriages depart every 30 minutes beginning at 4:30 PM with the last tour beginning at 8:00PM. Tickets are $22.50. Children under 2 who sits on an adult’s lap ride free. Of the ticket price, $18 is tax-deductible. Tickets available for parties of 12 or more for $20 offered only for the 7:30 pm and 8 pm rides each night. Temporary Nashville lighting for your very special event – 3 important things to think about

Are you having an outdoor prom, wedding, graduation party, cookout or other really special event? If so, you’ve probably considered outdoor lighting for the event. Have you wondered if it’s possible to get great quality event lighting for a one-time event? With a resounding yes, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville provides temporary outdoor lighting for events and special occasions.

You’ve probably considered the many benefits of having outdoor lighting as well as the implications of not having lighting. Here are the top 3 things to think about:

1) Adding space

One thing our customers tell us time and time again is how much more they and their guests use their back yards once they add outdoor lighting. “It’s like that part of my yard doesn’t existing at night because it’s not lit up at night”. 2) Photography

We’ve all seen them. We’re positively giddy when we attach the digital camera cord to the computer the next day and there they are – super dark pictures that are essentially useless. Good outdoor lighting renders colors and images in a way similar to how they are seen during the day. If it’s a wedding, imagine the difference between outdoor evening photos with good illumination and without. If you’re having a family reunion and likely won’t see these relatives again for many years, you want to capture all of the pictures. Good lighting will help make this possible.

3) Safety

Let’s never forget safety. Grassy areas hold numerous pitfalls for traversing add night. Add high heels to the equation and it could be even worse. But traversing grass and bumpy surfaces such as a cobbled walkway can be very safe if properly illuminated. Better illumination of the entry path and the party will enhance the safety of all your guests in the evening.
