The Security of Outdoor Lighting

Although home security has always been important, it has become more prevalent as of late. In recent years, the overwhelming majority of phone calls we’ve received at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives have been based on aesthetics. That being said, in the past 12 months, we have seen an uptick in regard to security related inquiries.

When I hear the term “security lighting”, something big and bright comes to mind. Though some people might not realize it, a low voltage design can provide a suitable sense of safety for a home. Different techniques such as path and moonlighting can give your property an artistic touch, while enhancing function and safety.

The facts are there. A lit home is much less likely to be burglarized, vandalize, or violated. So before you start pumping up the wattage on your floodlights, consult with your local designer. You may be able to kill two birds with one stone.
