Nahsville Upscale Apartment Outdoor Lighting

Commercial outdoor lighting accounts are a specialty of ours simply because we handle some of Nashville’s most legendary landmarks and businesses. For 30 years, many well-known Nashville commercial venues have counted on us to illuminate the evening for their customers. We can happily provide you with references from our happy clients that repeatedly use our services for various permanent and temporary lighting situations throughout the year.

Besides making your storefront, restaurant or venue look gorgeous in the evening night—commercial outdoor lighting also provides many other benefits besides a stunning aesthetic. We help you add security and safety so your customers can safely navigate your grounds without a hazardous trip and fall in the dark. Additionally, targeted lighting keeps crime down near your location thanks to brightly lit surroundings, too.

We totally get balancing beauty within a budget, and Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville uses LED lighting for low energy consumption that helps save when it comes to your bottom line. You can expect up to an 80% savings in switching out from old-school incandescent and halogen bulbs. LED bulbs last longer as well, so this means fewer change-outs for another cost reduction. And, our LED’s offer warm light that turns on immediately with no warm-up waiting or flickering.

Our lighting fixtures are made proudly in the USA exclusively for us and are of all-metal construction. We don’t use cheap plastics that fade and get brittle over time like many of our competitor’s, either. We refuse to skimp on quality and pass on an inferior product to our customers. Period! We also service EVERYTHING we install, so you can focus on your business plan and not worry about your outdoor lighting. You call us if there is ever an issue, and we promise to be there to fix it.

We do it all at OLP Nashville—we can retrofit your existing lighting design (yep, even if it was installed by another company); we can add to an existing design if you want to augment it for more illumination; we can light up your business sign, the architecture of your building, your landscape, entryway, your front or rear patios—anywhere! We can even tackle the lighting for your parking lot and handle your holiday lighting plan when the time comes, too. With regard to outdoor lighting, we do it ALL!

Lighting Upgrade to LED at Restaurant Parking Lot Increases Customers’ Safety While Saving Money for Owners

Nashville Commercial LED parking lot lighting at Bastion

What happens when a bastion of fine lighting and a Bastion of fine dining cross paths? Everybody wins! Especially the patrons of Bastion, a wonderful restaurant in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood of Nashville. The restaurant’s parking lot has been greatly improved with an upgrade to state-of-the-art LED lighting to keep customers and employees safer at night.

The restaurant’s website provides the definition of bastion: A place or system in which something (such as an old fashioned idea) continues to survive. Here in Nashville, the old-fashioned ideas of excellent service and excellent food survive at Bastion, the restaurant. The old-fashioned ideas of excellent service along with superior outdoor lighting design and installation survive at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville.

Neighborhood Ties …

Bastion recently hired Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville to replace the old lights in the restaurant’s parking lot. The Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, as you probably know, is home to several one-of-a-kind restaurants, art galleries and artist studios as well as First Tennessee Park in Germantown. What you may not know is that years ago, the founders of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville opened B&B Manufacturing just across Houston Street from where Bastion is located today. Bob Lyons Sr. and Bob Lyons Jr. started B&B Manufacturing to make the high-quality outdoor lighting fixtures they needed for their residential and commercial lighting installations.

Out With the Old, In With the New

The lights in Bastion’s parking lot that needed to be replaced were metal halide lights. While metal halide lights have served us all for many years at ball parks, in parking lots and along streets, commercial LED technology now offers benefits metal halide does not. The color temperature of LED lights is brighter/cooler, which is better for a parking lot because it’s more focused. More focused light contributes to safer surroundings and clearer visibility.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF USING LEDS IN A PARKING LOT:

More energy efficient: Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville replaced 400-watt metal halide lights with 150-watt LEDs. Watts measure energy efficiency, and increased energy efficiency means costs savings.

Nashville Commercial LED parking lot lighting at Bastion

Longer lasting: While the life of metal halide lights is 6,000 to 15,000 hours, LEDs will last over 30,000 hours. This presents another cost savings because LEDs do not need to be replaced as often. Metal halide lights can produce 100 lumens per watt when new, and at 400 watts these lights initially produce 40,000 lumens. (Lumens measure the total amount of light visible to the human eye from a lamp or light source.) Within 6 months, a metal halide light degrades to the point that it may only produce 24,000 lumens. LEDs will eventually degrade, too, but over a number of years, not months.

Automated: The LEDs we installed in Bastion’s parking lot use photo cells that sense when daylight is fading, so the new lights come on automatically every night.

No warm-up time needed: LED lights appear bright instantly, as soon as you turn them on. Metal halide lights need 1-15 minutes to warm up. If you turn them off and back on, you must wait several minutes because they won’t produce light again until they have cooled off.

Nashville Commercial LED parking lot lighting at Bastion

Whiter, brighter light: The LED lights we used for Bastion’s parking lot have a color temperature of 5,000 Kelvin (5,000K), a sweet spot for Kelvin and more like daylight. The color temperature of the metal halide lights was 4,000K, which means they produced a warmer—and yellower—light. The whiter (cooler) light is best for parking lots.

Light color stays true: The light an LED produces will remain the same color, while over time the metal halide lights begin to give off pink, green or blue hues. This is because the metal halide bulb burns mercury and other metal vapors in a vacuum tube. As the lights lose some of those metals, they exhibit color shifts.

No cycling on and off: Once an LED light is on, it stays on until you (or the photo cell) turns it off. As metal halide lights (and some other types, such as sodium-vapor lamps) begin to fail, they tend to cycle on and off, leading to an unsafe situation in parking lots!

No toxic materials: LEDs do not contain mercury, so they can be disposed of easily. (However, most LEDs available today are made of materials that can be recycled.) Metal halide lights contain mercury, hazardous waste.

Only the Best for Bastion’s Customers

By upgrading their parking lot lighting from metal halide to state-of-the-art LED, Bastion will save money on electricity and bulbs while also providing safer lighting for their customers and staff.

Nashville Tree Lighting at the Country Music Hall of Fame

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville recently installed commercial outdoor lighting along the tree-lined entrance to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. This venue is rich in music history as it is often referred to as the Smithsonian of country music.

With a core goal of collecting, preserving, and interpreting the evolving history and traditions of country music, the Country Music Hall of Fame teaches audiences about the past and continued importance of county music.

The venue recently unveiled a magnificent expansion, doubling its size to 350,000 sq. feet of galleries, classrooms, retail areas, storage and special event space. The building is situated in the heart of Music City’s epicenter close to the honky-tonks of Broadway and across the street from Bridgestone Arena.

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville is truly honored to have been asked to install the tree lighting along the entrance to this amazing venue! We used a technique called tree wrapping to add elegance and beauty to this already impressive locale. Though this genre of lighting may appear to be solely for the holidays, the venue intends to keep the lights year round. Such is the trend to use permanent tree lighting in many commercial buildings and even in residential backyard settings.

Nashville Post showcases our stunning festival lighitng completed in the Gulch!

Nashville Post

Our permanent festival lighting installation in “the Gulch” recently featured in the Nashville Post.

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville is super proud to light up the evening sky in many of the most prominent commercial spaces in and around our beloved city. We are humbled and proud to have contributed the outdoor lighting on  venerable landmarks such as the Country Music Hall of Fame, Arrington Vineyards and even lighting up the Christmas tree at the capitol building. It’s a pretty big deal to us that Nashville entrusts us to illuminate these important spaces. The Gulch is one of the hottest parts of town with nifty restaurants, apartments and shopping. Its industrial warehouse look of the past is a big draw for hipsters looking for a cool way to spend some time in Nashville, and there is always a ton of fun that can be had in this part of town. We were honored to be asked to add some evening allure with the addition of overhead permanent festival lighting that casts a  glow in the alleys during the evenings. The Nashville Post recently profiled the Gulch with a great photo that clearly showcases these awesome fixtures that look just as striking during the daylight hours, and they definitely fit into the industrial vibe and perfectly match the brick on the buildings and the concrete walkways.

If you think these overhead festival lights are great, we can also incorporate them into any commercial setting such as over an outdoor restaurant patio for a European café vibe or even the clubhouse pool for a pretty watery sparkle after nightfall. Residential homes can also benefit from the same treatment over a patio, within a covered porch or veranda or even over your outdoor kitchen area for a delightful look that will give you plenty of visibility.

Our festival lights are commercial grade and made in the USA especially for us. They are meant to last season after season and are suspended by a strong wire so they do not sag over time.  We offer clear, white or an array of colors with bulbs, so you can keep the look classic like at The Gulch or jazz things up with a stimulating colorful vibe. Best of all, you can change out the bulbs at any time if you enjoy switching things up during different seasons of the year.

Nashville outdoor lighting straightest drive

Nashville outdoor lighting straightest drive

Last week we attended the CAI Nashville golf tournament Luau Golf Scramble at Gaylor Springs Golf Course here in Nashville. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We sponsored the straightest drive contest and had a nice tent where we met lots of great property managers around the Nashville area. In fact, some of the CAI members were already customers of ours and didn’t realize that we do commercial outdoor lighting. We do! After the event, we were asked by several CAI members to do a consultation. These were for traditional outdoor lighting but also for parking garage and parking area lighting.

3 main aspects – design company first – you give us a blank canvas and tell us what you want and we will tell you what you need #2 – installation - we provide all of the fixtures and all of the installation labor for you. There is no sub-contractor. We complete the install, you get warranty #3 – service. We service our systems, we service other systems. People are impressed that we have 2 full-time service vans and we’re bringing on another We customize all of our service packages for your needs – monthly, quarterly, yearly Holiday lighting – not too early to start thinking about it We offer property managers something a little different – we design, install, store. You don’t have to do anything.

Here was our booth at the golf tournament.

The good thing is that Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville hasn’t just been in our market for over 20 years, but we are the manufacturer for all of the other Outdoor Lighting Perspectives offices around the country. We have a tremendous amount of flexibility with our fixtures to not only custom design a solution but sometimes to even create a customized product. We have the ability to powder coat our fixtures to match the various applications.

Some of the CAI members we spoke to just wanted to know what we do.

Essentially, there are 3 main aspects to what we do. We are a design company first. You give us a blank canvas and tell us what you want and we will design the outdoor lighting for your needs.

Secondly, we are an installation company. We provide all of the fixtures and all of the installation labor for you. There is no sub-contractor. We complete the install, you get the warranty

Finally, we are a service company. We service our systems and we service other systems. We have 2 full-time service vans. You may have seen them around town. And we’re bringing on another service van to keep up. We customize all of our service packages for your needs whether they be monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

We also do holiday lighting. It’s definitely not too early to start thinking about holiday lighting. Unlike other holiday lighting companies, we offer property managers something a little different – we design, install, and store. You don’t have to do anything. You literally don’t ever have to touch the lighting.

Give us a call to talk about outdoor lighting for your commercial or residential application.
