At Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville, we love our Preds!

Here at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville, we support our local teams. Whether it is the Titans or our numerous local college teams, our heart is in Tennessee. Our love for the Nashville Predators runs deep as they reach the Stanley Cup finals for the first time in the franchise’s history. The Preds and their fans are the talk of the sports world and beyond, evidenced by recent articles in The New York Times, Sports Illustrated and USA Today, just to name a few.

Now that the Preds have defeated the mighty Ducks of Anaheim, the music city is now being referred to as “Smashville” as they head to the finals. One more challenge stands between the Predators and their first championship. They must either unseat the defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins or derail the upstart Ottawa Senators. The winner of that Eastern Conference series, which could be determined as soon as Tuesday if the Penguins win Game 6, will host the Predators in Game 1 on Monday.

If you look closely, your will see our own Bob Lyons Jr., helping to hold the sign at a recent Preds. game.

The excitement in Nashville is palpable as we prepare for Monday nights game — Memorial Day, a fitting way to add to the holiday weekend ahead. The Tennessean posted the most recent schedule of the finals, it is as follows:

May 29: Game 1 at Pittsburgh/Ottawa (NBC)

May 31: Game 2 at Pittsburgh/Ottawa (NBC SN)

June 3: Game 3 at Nashville (NBC SN)

June 5: Game 4 at Nashville (NBC)

x — June 8: Game 5 at Pittsburgh/Ottawa (NBC)

x — June 11: Game 6 at Nashville (NBC)

x — June 14: Game 7 at Pittsburgh/Ottawa (NBC)

x — if necessary

The entire team at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville is rooting for the Preds. Rest assured, when it comes to local team dedication and support, we have our pucks (and our hearts) on the ice with you!

Add Drama to your Nashville Landscape this Season with Outdoor Lighting!

Nashville TN moonlighting used in treesFew seasons bring as much joy as the arrival of spring. Here in Nashville, there is much to see and do. From a visit to the zoo at Grassmere, catching a MusicCity concert, to a stroll through beautiful Cheekwood Estate & Gardens during the Cheekwood in Bloom event. Look around, there’s no place more beautiful and alive than Nashville in the spring.

On the homefront, Nashvillians are busy sprucing up their homes and landscapes in honor of the season. This often includes adding or extending an outdoor living space or revamping the landscape. Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville can add drama and enhance the function and beauty of your spring endeavors through the addition of outdoor lighting.

Outdoor lighting serves as a beneficial addition to outdoor spaces such as decks, patios and even children’s play areas such as a treehouse. Through illumination, you are able to increase the safety of a space and in turn, increase the time you can spend enjoying your outdoors. Our Nashville outdoor lighting portfolio is loaded with inspiration for lighting for outdoor living spaces.

When it comes to improving the look and feel of your Nashville landscape — lighting is the answer. From formal gardens, perennial beds, or a complete landscape overhaul, we can add beauty to your investment.

Nashville Landscape Lighting

Nashville landscape and water feature lighting.

If you are planning landscape or outdoor living space additions or have a property lacking outdoor lighting, we can design a system from scratch and lay everything out. It’s always best to include your outdoor lighting architect in your home-build or landscape renovation projects upfront so that we can work in tandem with your contractor to take advantage of the construction phase. Being proactive can save you money and hassle later when it comes time to determine where power and fixtures need to be if you plan in advance.

Even if you don’t plan on adding outdoor lighting right away, we can install sleeves before your hardscapes and other structures are poured or built. Sleeves allow wiring to easily be passed through at any time instead of having to dig under existing hardscape like concrete. This proactive approach minimizes on mess and causes less disruption of the landscape. It also helps in case you have an issue with wiring later on as it can be quickly serviced or replaced through the same sleeve.

LandscapeLighting

Of course, we are always happy to work around your existing outdoor structures and landscaping. We will come in and evaluate your property and work around existing structures wherever possible–so don’t fret if you forgot to include landscape lighting in your initial plans.

Welcome David G. Todd to Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville

david-g-todd-headshot-for-olp-nashville

David G. Todd, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville.

Here at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville, we have a close-knit team. From our office staff, to our designers and our installers, we embrace an ethic of open communication and teamwork. In many ways, we function in much the same manner a family would. With this in mind, we want to formally welcome one of our newest team members into the OLP Nashville family — David G. Todd.

David is a Nashville native. He was in the specialty advertising business for 25 years. After selling his company he pondered what his next step would be. David then decided to venture into the oil and gas business where he remained until 2015 when gas prices plummeted, or when the spigots were turned off, so to speak. This left his calendar open to exploring new endeavors.

David’s arrival at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville has been “simmering” for many years as David and Bob Lyons Jr. have been friends for some 25+ years. During this time the two of them often tossed around the idea of doing something together from a business perspective. About 3 years backs those friendly conversations became more serious, which focused on growing the commercial end of the business from a lighting standpoint. David has ties to many of the contractors, builders, engineers and architects doing business in and around the Nashville area, so this past summer he and Bob Jr. decided to move ahead in officially making him part of the team.

David officially joined the OLP Nashville team on August 1st, 2016, where he is heading the commercial outdoor lighting aspect of growth and assists in growing the residential outdoor lighting facet as well. He is working in unison with Bob Jr. as the main salesman for commercial and residential installations.

Brentwood TN Architectural and Facade Outdoor Lighting

He loves being at OLP Nashville and says he is having a blast. He is most impressed with the effect the addition of outdoor lighting has on a property. Some of the most enjoyment for him comes from helping with evening demonstrations for prospective clients and witnessing their reaction to seeing their home, or business, illuminated for the first time — it is truly priceless. David pointed out a recent demo where the couple gave each other outdoor lighting as a Christmas present to themselves and how overjoyed they were with the results.

2016-olp-franchise-of-the-year-award-from-olb

This past year, 2016, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville won a Franchisee of the Year award and the Excellence in Sales Award during the Outdoor Living Brands annual meeting held in January. David is elated to be part of a team that has, and continues, to be recognized for their success!

Please help us welcome the newest member of our team! We look forward to sharing the continued success of Nashville outdoor lighting, both in our commercial and residential projects in the future.

Our recent install at 500fifth takes Nashville residential outdoor lighting to a new level

Nahsville Upscale Apartment Outdoor Lighting

Nashville outdoor lighting at 500fifth.

When you think of Nashville residential outdoor lighting you probably picture a beautiful home in Brentwood or Belle Meade or maybe even a quaint farmhouse nestled among acreage in Middle Tennessee. These images are accurate, and with good reason, because Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville specializes in residential, commercial outdoor lighting and holiday outdoor lighting in the Nashville area. However, with the growing trend in urban residential living, Nashville outdoor lighting is popping up amid all genres of housing. From townhouses, condominiums and even upscale apartments.

Nahsville Upscale Apartment Outdoor Lighting

One of our most recent outdoor lighting projects took place at 500fifth Apartments in downtown Nashville. This upscale complex delivers breathtaking views of the city skyline and offers an easy commute to those working downtown.

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Nashville was asked to help make the building’s facade come to life through the addition of lighting. We accomplished this project with understated grace as we used up lighting to create the look and feel they had in mind. Through the use of 3000 degree kelvin/200 watt LED up lighting fixtures mounted on custom brackets the entire front facade of the 500fifth becomes a location you immediately want to know more about. The lighting adds dimension, depth and an air of majesty to the building.

Nahsville Upscale Apartment Outdoor Lighting

On this particular project our goal was to illuminate the front facade of the building. However, on many apartment properties there are other facets on the grounds that can also benefit from the addition of outdoor lighting. This can include, but is not limited to, the property’s common areas such as the pool, parking areas, walkways and clubhouse. We have also had great success illuminating the signage located at the entrance to many of the apartments we have lit. Take a look at the areas we illuminated at The Grove Whitworth apartments in Green Hills, TN…

As you can clearly see, Nashville residential outdoor lighting can benefit all types of homes, from apartments to estates and everything in between!
